The Unbearable Break

The dark is over

—I can hold the load, of work to come

—exchanges that need be

—I work late and tired

—it’s in my power

What I could not bear

—the dark and void

—unknown, unmeasurable space

—of weight and time and place

I’d have perished hard

—without friend and faith

Now the dark grows dim

—the weight heavy, but measured

—bearable

Now I  breath,  step forward to a new space
